Professor introduction
Associate Professor (Lecturer) Hajime TANAKA
Hajime Tanaka received his Ph.D. degree in 2017 from Kyoto University, Japan. After working as a postdoctoral researcher at Kyoto University and Osaka University, he became a program-specific assistant professor at Kyoto University in 2019. From 2020 to 2025, he was an assistant professor at Osaka University. He is currently an associate professor (lecturer) at the School of Engineering, Kwansei Gakuin University. His main research interests include simulations of electronic states and carrier transport properties, especially in wide-bandgap semiconductors and nanoscale devices.
Computational Semiconductor Engineering
Our research focuses on simulating electronic states and carrier transport phenomena in semiconductors, particularly wide-bandgap semiconductors and nanoscale semiconductor structures. We aim to understand and quantitatively predict complex phenomena through simulations, develop physical models, and enhance computational methods. Furthermore, we seek to propose novel devices based on these simulations.
