STACY: Towards Safe Storage and Transportation of Cryogenic Hydrogen

Various efforts are currently underway around the world to realize a carbon-neutral society by 2050.

Hydrogen energy is attracting attention as a clean and renewable energy, and its demand is expected to grow in the future. In particular, liquefied hydrogen has a higher energy density than gaseous hydrogen, so it is excellent for mass storage and transportation, and is also economically advantageous.

The three-year STACY project has started this year as an international joint research project in Germany, France, and Japan on the safe storage and transportation of liquefied hydrogen.

This time, as one of our big challenges, we will hold an international symposium led by students. In this symposium, the students of the Hirohisa Tanaka Laboratory in the School of Engineering cooperated in sending out invitations to the speakers, preparing the program and flyers, securing and setting up the venue, planning tours and devising bus routes.
